Are mosfets safe on airsoft guns?
I'm thinkin of installing one but over long term are they pretty safe on the guns?
very safe and actually improves RoF, reduces trigger response time, and increases battery efficiency.

wait, if there's no catch, then why don't you see brands advertising "new model that is more energy efficient and higher rate of fire than other guns with the same gearbox and battery configuration" etc?
Its fairly new? The big name brands have been using the same design for years and it works just fine?

there is a catch. MOSFET's can't get wet and due to space limitations they're usually limited to 9.6v.

Mofsets are standard upgrade options over seas. WGC, Redwolf, and UnCompany offer them and have for a few years. We are a few years behind here in the states.

Alright it's a complete bull hockey to say that it's because of the oil companies that electric cars are not mainstream get your liberal brainwashed peta spanked ass out of your head. The ONLY reason why electric cars are and have not made it into the mainstream is because of raw HP. Americans have an infinity for power, speed and the ability to go where and whenever. Yes, on paper electric motors are better than gas but unfortunately in the eyes of the general public the combustion engine has the win. I guarantee you if NASCAR, IRL or even Formula 1 started racing electric vehicles we will see it literally an overnight sensation. It is because of us the consumers we are the ones to blame not the oil company.

ya i'm gonna have to go with freq on this one... its not the oil companies its that there are only just now electric hybrid cars that are simmilar to internal combustion engines performance wise (like the highlander and stuff). Also its more expensive to design, test, and implement a new factory to build a new type of car then it is to keep on keepin on with what you've got... bottom line is everything and there isn't that much demand for all electric cars.

Are they considering hydrogen as a renewable resource?

fine fine... Ill make the long mental trip back to mosfets.
If you know your way around a gearbox and know how to solder electronic componants, shouldn't be too hard

[quote="the22ice"]I'm too stubborn and broke to take it to AEX, even though they're less than a 3 minute drive away... I'm assuming it should be somewhere on the externals, as there are no wires INSIDE the gearbox. Man, i hope my gearbox didn't get wires in it anyway...

Please tell me that was a joke?

Other than the contacts from the trigger mechanism and a few small ones leading to outside the gearbox, and then the leads from the motor, there's really not that many in there. The ones from the power supply and from the motor, and a majority of the wires from the two trigger mechanisms seem to be external and up and down the sides of the gearbox. When I modded it to and added the plug to enable/disable full auto, I did not have to open the gearbox itself since the wire leads ended at solder joints on the exterior of the gearbox. Havent opened my aug gearbox though, so maybe theres more wires in there too, but from what i remember it was pretty easy to see what's going on. Only other gearbox i opened was an m4 gearbox, and that did not have that many wires inside it either, other than the ones in a groove that made them more secure than if they were strapped along the side. So for the most part, i was serious. Or is my memory faded and there were in fact alot of wires in there? cuz most all i remember was trying to get the damned anti reversal latch from popping out of place while i tried to put it back together.
So which of those wires count as inside now? I could be wrong. As i said, i did not actually open it. Maybe the wires in front go inside and then loop back down in there, but looks to me like that's pretty much all of the circuit on the outside...
[quote="the22ice"]fine fine... Ill make the long mental trip back to mosfets.
I have installed mosfets and used them as well. Not that big of a deal. The increase in ROF is nominal at best. There will be no "oh my god" effect. The best thing about them is the load they take off the wiring. I would pass and invest in something that will have better results...
