backyard shooting illegal?
Okay, so I was testing my mp5a4(awesome gun) in my backyard and trying to tweek the hop up. I finally get it tweeked, but my neighbor comes and says "Hey, it's illegal to shoot in a residential neighborhood." I apologized, and he kept saying it was illegal...
supressor and shoot targets taht dont hit loud haha.... dont take my advice
I'd call the cops on your stupid a$$. Yes its illegal. Only work on your AEG in terms of hop adjustments before a game, at the field.
Lol... this seems to be happening more and more - in most incorporated areas now, it is in fact, illegal to shoot your airsoft guns. I've been talked to by the cops, and I know a good handful of other airsofters have.

Woah, really? all of california? I thought tha tother than Roseville, it was fine to shoot in backyard so long as you have orange tips...
where do you live there are ordinances in place in some of the cities for example roseville prohibits any and all projectile-throwing or shooting items within city limits. i found this out when an as shole neighbor called the cops on me instead of telling me. yet i was in walmart and the counter guy was about to sell some springers to a kid and his father. when i informed the father of the ordinance he changed his mind. the counter guy was asked if he knew of the ordinance and replied yes he knew. yet he declined to state this to the customer, one more reason not to go to wal-mart. check your local ordinances. but common sense is king just dont play with sight in or brandish your airsoft weapons in any area that someone might see.
yeah ANY projectile is illigal, that means Nerf guns too. wtf? i dont knwokreally but it wouldnt surprise me

for you airsofters - this applies to us.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.
Hm. Im in citrus heights. We've called Citrus heights PD and asked if we could play at rusch park way back when we had springers, lol. We explained they looked exactly like firearms, but fired 6mm plastic pellets. They said we could play but said that we should try not to disturb anybody, or they would kick us out. I think the officer(s) (cuz one had to ask another one if they knew anything about airsoft laws) were clueless and made a bad call.
So, unless you are shooting into your neighbor's backyard or making alot of noise back there, he wasn't being out of line. Correct?
Yes, that is Ackbar. Yes, it does mean what you think.
I tell people it depends on your neighbors. Most cities have an ordanance prohibiting the use of firearms/pellet type guns within city limits. Use common sense. My neigbors are not cool so I keep my gun play inside or on the field.

Just avoid the whole mess and shoot your gun indoors.... Hallways work for me, as long as I line the "range" with old linens to avoid any damage.

The federal law allows you to shoot airguns in your backyard. However, if BB's go off your property, it's littering and illegal.
