Tell me about your favorite military books. I have to read some books for school (and I enjoy reading, believe it or not), and I was looking for some good reads. Books about special forces, battles, etc. Anything semi-interesting that you recommend. I've heard about Masters of Chaos (or Masters of War, I don't remember), and I want to look into that. And I've read Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden, the book that the movie was based off of, and that was a great book. Very accurate (not to the movie), and although it was a nonfiction book, it read like a fiction, action/adventure book.

Sun Tzu: The art of War

Tom Clancy's End War by David Michaels. i think it was a really good book. :)

Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell is probably my favorite book period.

Dunno if this counts, but i like the works of David Weber and Robert Heinlein. This is more Sci-fi than military, but good reads none the less. Gets really descriptive on the weapons and the tactics used in the book (although fictional) and gives you entertainment. Definitely recommend Gust Front, A Hymn Before Battle, Friday (go easy on the Heinlein if you are young, very... descriptive *wink* *wink* *nudge**nudge*) and others of his.

Don't even get me started.

Soldier Boy's. Great book, just fantastic. Its about an american bouy joing the air borne and a german boy in the wermacht and there regiments fight against each other in the Battle of the Bulge. Great Book

Buy them yourself. You will read them again. Trust men. I've read most of mine at least twice. Except gay ones that were required.

They had most of those books at my high school library. I was pleasantly surprised.

Last Citadel is a good WW2 book in my opinion. Battle of Kursk on taken from the point of view of 2 russian and 2 german soldiers.

If you don't mind some fiction, i.e. Warhammer 40k fiction...

Not quite a military book, but it falls under the category of The Art of Way by Sun Tzu as well as The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Mushashi.
