I recently bought a barrel extension for my TM MP5A5. The orange tip needs to be replaced with the black one that came with it so I can thread it on, but I have no clue how to take it off. I unscrewed the front bolt and took off the whole front assembly and tried pulling it off but it won't come off. It doesn't help either that the guns instructions don't tell you how to take it off. I wonder if ehobbyasia glued it on.
threads are counter clockwise, try spinning off clockwise and it is easier if you leave barrel installed
Theres no threads on the other tip, it looks like it gets pushed in and locked into place. Thanks for the ridiculously fast response though.
I'm guessing it is the plastic one you are talking about? I have never had an issue with getting one out, i'd ask snoopy or Andrew, they have had far more experiance with the new tm mp5's than i have
there should be a VERY small set screw in the orange tip and its most likely rubber cemented on the barrel as well. If your feeling brave use a dremel cutter and cut on two sides of the orange tip directly across from each other then it ill fall off.
yea, theres rubber cement. I dont' feel brave enough to use a dremel. I really don't want to take it to a shop and feel like a dumbass either. I guess i'm going to take to AEX and see what they can do.
Well I got it off. I just let is soak in acetone and it pulled right off. Ruined the orange tip though.
It's fun to burn them off!
