Mp5 electric contact issues

Oct 28, 2007 4:33am
I've been having trigger contact problems and i have isolated it down to this one piece. I don't know what it is called but it is located inside of the gearbox and when assembled, it can be seen on the other side. It is that metal piece that makes contact with the selector plate. The problem is that the two little metal pieces that are sprung up are not making contact with the selector switch. When i plug in the motor (and the charged battery) and pull the trigger, nothing happens unless i put pressure to the selector plate onto the two metal things. Does anyone know how i can have the metal things stay up so i do not have to always put pressure onto the selector switch. Also, i have tried assembling the who gun together thinking that would put enough pressure on the selector switch, but it didn't.

cut a snip off a piece of small zip tie and place that behind those contacts.

its a classic army one, should i try a differnt brand?

you should probably look inside the gearbox if you know how to open it up. The trigger switch mechanism itself maybe burnt out.

it is not. i already tested it and it worked., i checked the tapplet plate too and there is no wear, except for a little bend on the front of it.
