I miss the old sacair

Oct 30, 2007 10:08am
The days where sac air wasn’t a org. but a group of people that got to get together just to shoot the shit. that is what airsoft should be.

Yep those were different times. I miss the people from back then the most. When 20 guys was a big game. When Ronnie would haost a gmae and show up 30 minutes late everytime, lol. When we would play for maybe 2 hours out of a 6 hour day. The best games where at Carl's JR. BUt it is over. Now we have guys shooting at cars at the parking lot at Nam, happened at the last game tey put two dings in the rear quarter panel, peeps threatened, 40-60 peeps the normal amount at a game, littering, drugs and alchol at games, real steel, no gun discipline, this contractor attitude everywhere. Things are not the same. It is no longer a small group of people that get together to hang out and shoot each other. It has evolved from that to a bigger thing. Do you think that any admin wants to dictate what is happening here? Everything used to be about respect, but now with so many people and with different views on what is respectful it is hard to keep things going smoothly. As admins we are trying to keep Sacair on a level playing field. So no one is left out. If you have been around then you have seen how a single group can try to dominate. Thta is not happening now.

Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

I say we take all the sacair admins out back and off them!!!!!

I'm happy enough with the admins control over the games and on the forums. I would like to see a bit more open-ness to a select few of the more vet players of sacair, granting some ability to host smaller games. But for all the times I've been out to a SacAir game; No issues, and besides the always constant n00b with a not-calling-hit bs, not major problems what would over all deter me from games.

hey dont talk about IT like that

hasnt there always been alchol at sacair games? I name a few admins (none who have posted in this thread yet) that drink at games. I myself have had a few drinks at games, yet nothing to much. I don't drink too inebriation then play.

If you give to a charity please think of giving to one of these two charities. The Naval Special Warfare Foundation or Navy SEAL Warrior Fund.

i admit, sometimes during safety talk i wont be paying attention. mostly because i've heard the rules alot. but the new poeple may look ove and see other people not paying attention/talking and think it is okay for them to do the same..safety briefing could be more involved, using admins, more experienced and respected players to act out what to do/don't do. Making the safety briefing a demonstration, making it more realatable, interactive, and eye catching. but im just a kid who can't type, so this might make no sense at all.

Just to let you all uninformed people know, none of the admins want to be admin. They all do it because they want a place to play airsoft. They do it because they know no one else would. They do it because it has to be done. Trust me when I say everyone admin would love to return to being just another airsofter. We really don't enjoy doing this. Its a thankless job.

All the games i have been to recently the admins have enforced no mags in the parking lot, and clearing your gun before entering the parking lot from the field. i'll remind the people around me walking back, mags out and clear your guns.[/quote]

Sacair is nothing like what it used to be. It used to be a group of guys that were all friends and went to school together. We didn't have to worry about people cheating, drinking or doin drugs out at the field. It was a time when we did not have to post up a game date it was known that every weekend there was goin to be a game out at CP, and yes a 20 person game was usually a big game. I hope to make it out soon to see what has happened to my beloved game and see if I can't make a difference to make it the way it was all those years ago when we first started this web site.
Oct 31, 2007 6:42am
i was only privileged enough to go to one CP game before the site was closed but from what i can tell over the years sacair has definitely changed. it was much more chill before and there wasn't nearly as much drama or flaming on the boards. but the thing is, although some things have changed for the worse (ie the things mentioned above + drugs at the field, disregard for safety, etc), a lot of good things have happened too. we have a whole bunch of fields now and the games are bigger than ever (which usually equals fun). so even though it's different, i don't necessarily think that's a bad thing. for the amount of organization required to keep things running smoothly, i think the current admins have been doing pretty good. they have to assert their power more than in the past...but it's so people don't break rules and get hurt and shit...and it's not like we're under some kind of dictatorship. also, you got to remember that the admins are just plain old guys like the rest of us. they have their flaws...expecting them to be perfect is unreasonable. they get angry and upset and annoyed and whatnot just like the rest of us and yes, sometimes they make mistakes...but we all do. the only real difference between an admin and a non-admin is that the admins have volunteered their time to make sure things run well on this site and out at the field.

Until Sacair has a private field to operate again you guys really have no control. When sacair started it was structured on the idea we had a private field where the admins could enforce the rules to protect the interests of the landowner and themselves. If you look at it objectively playing on public land is a pretty dumb idea.....but coming off of something as great as CP we did not want to face up to the truth that things needed to change........and we are paying for it now. Realistically Sacair should not hold another game until a private field can be found and the rules enforced.
Oct 31, 2007 3:07pm
Man talk about a downer. Look Wheatland is private. We can enforce the rules there if you do not like them do not show up there or you will go home. People smile :D man all this negative talk is not going to help. peeps talking about shuting down and what not  look this is not a big deal. If you look at your 27" monitior nonstop and see all the bad stuff and the limits well gues what you be stuck there. Instead look at all the positive things that are happening. It is funny i read the posts by Bordin, Juan, Jeremy and they are positive. But then I read some otheres and I am like man who peeded in their Cheerios. Come on guys we are doing good things are changing but guess what we are going to be ok. If you think we won't be then in your world it will not be. Personally I think we are going to be even better in the coming year!!!! So Rock ON!
