Okay, I am switching the front sling mount on my m4 since I am lefty. I already broke the original trying to get it off. Now I have a new one but it came with the pins already inserted into the piece. How the hell do I get them out without doing damage. I have been trying with the punch things but it's still not budging and I am hesitant to hit it too hard.

find a screw like a machine screw, same diameter of the pins that hold it into place, use a rubber mallet or a hammer, just tap lightly till it budges

That's what I've been doing but on the first one the metal one the mount snapped before the pin budged. But I guess I'll just keep trying

I've only had that problem with non TM parts.

I believe one side is tighter than the other. Make sure your not tryin to tap the whole pin through the tighter side.
Really, come on man we learned about that square peg in the round hole thing back when we were kids.
Yeah I am going from the side that isn't spread out more. Like I said I am just kinda hesitant to go banging away at it again.
