Quieter Internals

Mar 12, 2005 7:41pm
Is there any way of quieting the sound of the motor and the gears without giving up durability? The only thing I could think of that might work, is if someone came out with gears that used a friction surface kind of gear instead of normal gears with teeth...

like a rubber coating or something?, that would be interesting but i dont know how much noise it would cut down on, u know if your gun is shimmed properly and you have high quality internals and motor the gears dont even make that much noise, you mainly just hear the piston going forward every cycle

After you have made the gearbox perfect (7mm bearings, good shimming, etc) you can line the inside of the gun with dynamat. Its used in car stereo kinda stuff, and comes in tons of different thicknesses. Works really well.

good shimming, also the noise the motor makes can be adjusted quiter by tightening the screw on the pottom of the pistol grip (A TINY BIT) if you do it too much itll bind up the motor, dynamat (works on AUG very well) and a systemma silent set! (cylinder head/piston head)

Thanks, I just got a silencer for my M4 and the internals' noise kind of defeated the whole point of the silencer; I just wanted to see if i could get it quieter.

Dont you hear the piston hitting the nozzel attatched to the cylinder every time it cycles forward, i know i hear a snap or popping sound every time i fire a shot and i asume thats all it could be but please correct me if im wrong

actually, semantics is a difference in meanings for the same word, your error was a factual one, with an incorrect name being attached to a specific item.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

Wait, i didnt get the job at AEX cuz i couldn't work enough hours, apparently they were only hiring full time. Plus i was applying for a sales associate possition so an in depth knowledge of the internal operation of the guns was not required. Cmon snoop you can do better
Mar 16, 2005 6:23pm

Mar 16, 2005 6:27pm
