Older CA's were known for their issues. HOWEVER they are fairly solid now. the last one i worked all i had to do was re lube and I was gettign 350fps from 320 fps.

So your saying with CA I will have internal issues down the line where as going with a TM I'd just need a body upgrade?

Lemme say, welcome to sacair.

I say get the S system. You wont have barrel wobble with the RIS systema the way it is. HOWEVER if you want to convert it to a metal body it will cos about 90$ extra i think to get the S system metal body adapter. But the biggest rason to convert is to get rid of the barrel wobble anyway and you wont have any with the system. Both solid guns, i like the m4 ris myself.

rap, stop confusing him, your on stage 2 and he's trying to catch up.

^^^ what he said. ive owned both like many others on the forum. Either way down the line your gonna have to upgrade one or the other. I have the same version CA CQB gun you were looking at. The CA quality has gotten better since i purchased my gun and they feel very sturdy. Some problems i have ran into with the gun are motor problems and gear problems. replaceing those arent that big of a deal... aex might even give them to u for free because of the warranty. i dont know if that still flys. Tm's are great guns also. everyone b itches about no metal body but if that doesnt bother you then thats what i would choose. you wont have any motor problems and the internals are pretty solid. choose based on what you like better. CA CQB will come with the crane stock so be ready to pay the extra 80 for the battery etc. hope that helps.

If you like the CQB, buy it.

Which AEX did you go to? In my experience the Santa Clara and Oakland stores aren't so consumer friendly, at least in comparison to the Sac store.

A. They wouldn't be "fleecing" you if they sold you a TM or CA.

Thanks Rex. Yeah after more and more thought the drive home and then dinner I think I am going to stay the course. Money isn't the option. I don't like to throw it away.

Ok so I got the bug and I want to mod before I buy.

if you're doing it that way. Forget about the CA as the base and get everything individually. Get a G&P MBK, Systema complete gearbox, and a pistol grip of your choice. It'll be about a couple hundred more but much better in terms of quality than a CA.

Yeah that the thing that I started thinking about when I made the list. I was like "Why not build the gun from scratch".

Also as a viable option is to get a tm m733 which I believe is their least inexpensive m4 style aeg. You would only need to change the nylon bushings for some metal ones. Change out the spring to an M100 and go with a G&P MBK since that comes with a hopup unit.

I never once had a problem with my M15A4 "M16a2 verison" had a couple of upgrades and shoot about 370fps, but was awesome.

Yeah thinking of going with the TM. Maybe grab one at AEX during the sale.
