Collapsible stocks, what's the use?

Nov 6, 2007 9:53pm
Does anyone know how the military or swat are trained for cqb, pertaining to how their primary weapon is adjusted (sling), shouldered, targeted, etc.? The same goes for sidearms training in cqb. After a fair amount of online research, most of the stuff is “pay-to-play”: buy this DVD or book, take this training course…

The generally accepted way to aim your rifle is nose to charging handle. Or basically, the closest you can get to the rear sight. And the way to accomplish that while squaring up to your target(more on that if you want) is with a short stock. Examples:

Smaller silhouette is how you hold yourself. You can give me an M14 or a Glock and I'll give you the same front and back silhouette. Now we are getting into tactics.....

Andrew yes you are correct. but a smaller gun will give a smaller silhouette.

Apologies for not getting back to the thread I started until now. I concur or maybe I conquer, whatever, those are excellent pics. Dead-on what I was looking for.

Last, overheard hearsay: majority of all future infantry "boots on the ground" engagements will be cqb in nature - t/f?

Humor my shrinking ignorance and define MOUT, and what's the important distinction from cqb?

This is airsoft most of our tactics are not useable because Airsoft guns can not shoot far enough.

True, a reality in woodland, but completely true in inter-building and intra-building as well?

In response to 1fstrex, I said true airsoft is very limited in range, but wondered if room to room & building to building tactics could be virtually the same as the real deal...
