Upgraded spring in A&K M4
SO, I just upgraded my stock spring to a Guarder SP 100 and upgraded the bushings too... now the spring won't pull back... SO, before i take this thing apart again could it be that the motor just isn't strong enough for the new spring or is it my installation???
Check the shimming and hopefully you aren't using one of those cheapy batteries... Sometimes the batteries that the gun comes with aren't all that great...

i would say its either the shimming, motor adjustment, battery, or a combination of the 3.
so you don't think it's that the motor just isn't strong enough to pull teh new spring?
sp100s arent the strongest springs around. your motor *should* be fine. ive been able to stuff an m120 into a cyma on a stock motor.
The other thing you might want to check is the gun's wiring. If it's too small of a gauge, it can't deliver enough volts/amps to the motor to pull back the spring. As was just said, an SP100 is not considered a strong spring. Your motor should have no problem with it. Wiring, battery, or both.

well, i took everything apart, checked my shimming and put he thing back together... then tested it by manually holding the motor to the gears... i tested it with my battery coming fresh off the charger and it shot...

+1 and check your fuse, from what sounds like you may have wired around the fuse when you hold the motor.
ok, so i pulled the motor again, held it to the gear and it is just clicking against the gears, NOT turning...

thanks, i was thinking the same thing... do i need to unlock the piston before putting the gun back together or will it work fine once i have a good battery in there?
do you think i should go for a 9.6 instead of just a new 8.4?

thank you all who helped... what it was WAS the battery... and in addition to that i didn't place the air nozzle correctly... WHOOPS... all is well now, i'll chrono it tomorrow but based on the can i shot i think i'm at around 345...
