I was wondering if kj works is a good brand? If not, please point me in the way of a good reliable brand that supply cheap full metal handguns.

I have owned a KJW M9 and it was a very nice gun. Everything in the gun worked flawlessly but the mags leaked really fast and i dont think it was my fault because none of my TM GBB mags have ever leaked. Honestly though, from personal experiance the all plastic TMs have always out performed, out lasted, and actually stood up to more then my all metal KJW and KWA GBBs.

why are kjw guns bad? if they can take the tm mags, the problem about quick leakage is solved. So what is the problem with kjworks?

kj is inconsistent in every way shape and form. some of their models (ie their mk1s and their m9s) are decent. others are pure shit (usp). even within the models, you get some that work well and some that were obviously not quality controlled and break right out of the box. it's basically a gamble to buy a kj gun new. used is actually a little better cause if it hasn't given the previous owner trouble, it prolly won't give you trouble either.

cris what about the kjw 1911's they are not worth it then? the mags interchange don't they. Also have you seena recoil spring for the tm 1911. mine is fried.

Mag leaks are an easy fix though... Not supporting them but just saying...

The kjw gun i was looking at, was the new version full metal m9. Is that gun as bad as the usp?
Nov 14, 2007 1:01pm
thanks Chris I was looking on Evike and they said that the all metal kjw 1911 is a clone of the tm and that all parts interchange including mags. But having seen the metal m9 and how bad that gun is I was just going to use the frame and slide and use the tm guts in the metal kjw 1911 body. So fr 120 or so with shipping I get a metal body and slide PLUS a spare mag.

yeah the clone companies are weird that way. a lot of the times they don't copy the dimensions exactly right and so things are incompatible. i bet they cast the mags just a hair to wide or something like that.
