I would like to ask everyone here at sacairsoft, who wants a indoor, scenario based, Urban Environment field located here in sacramento? approx 35,000 sqft of playing area. as well as a full retail shop.

I just did a CERF-P training out at McClellan AFB in one of their large hangers/warehouse. Inside the hanger was a "mock" building with a school locker room, a bar, a house, a underground garage, a office building, all kinds of things. This was to simulate different places a natural disaster or a terrorist strike might occur.

+1 I dont want to see flipped up pallets and stacks of tires. If your going to do it do it right. It will bring in more people.
I don't know where that Skunk Ape sleeps, but I do know that he had impure relations with my wife.

If its reasonable in cost and field ammo isn't required, people will play.

I have played airsoft at fields where paintball was the primary venue..I HATED it..paint everywhere, nasty gook, slippery floors, all in all it was a mess. I dont mind getting dirty but nasty paint is a no go for me...Just my 2 cents.

i second the notion to that if this is to take off, keep it to airsofters only. paintball goo gets nasty after a while.

Let me say thanks for alll the feedback so far. Yes i am the owner. the location is still in negotiations between west sac. and roesville. the field is slated to open spring of next year, and the weekly schedule is so far this: sat and sun paintball, field will be cleaned on mon. tue thru fri nights airsoft. three hour session from 6 to 9 pm. $30.00 for the session. the field is a town from kosovo, with bombed buildings and a main road thru the center of the quadrants. one main dead box/re-spawn point and no onfield refs. there will be cat-walks above the field for the refs. now i know most airsoft players are mostly honor system players, and if you want no refs during the game, there will be some way to work that out. the playing surface is going to be astroturf. there will also be a fully stocked storefront for both paintball and airsoft. Now i will be honest with everyone here, I am a paintballer first. I know nothing about airsoft, however I have several friends that play airsoft and I am working with the guys over at AEX. I welcome all suggestions. Thank you all.

would that be $30.00 a person? for a three hour sesion? uhh guys is that a good price? well if it opens i will go and at least check it out
Nov 15, 2007 5:55pm
Honestly I think you'd make more money having airsoft 1 weekend a month. I don't see many people shelling out $30.00 a night for 3 hours of playing?

Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

30.00 is a peliminary price. there will also be a team price 10+ players is ... and the hours and days can and probably will change. i dont know how many people would play during the weekdays or how late people would stay. also one weekend a month for airsoft sounds like a good idea. this is why i am posting here cause you guys are the ones who play. also we have a floor cleaner for the turf. the bbs will be caught up in the filter along with the rubber from the turf. also we intend to keep the bldgs and floor as clean as possible.

Im sorry to burst ao's bubble or anyone else around here, but I have only spoken to a few people about this and none of which (other than my personal friends) play airsoft. The field I intend to bring to the greater sacramento area WILL BE BOTH PAINTBALL AND AIRSOFT. the fact I don't play airsoft is why Im here asking for advice. The structures will be stationary although there will be doors and windows added or removed in the different buildings as well as sniper stations placed around the field. The overall size will be 35,000 sqft. various scenarios such as move the wounded or locate the prisoners will also be a part of the game. I have a military and law-inforcement background so this will be as realistic as possible. We are also in negotiations with the sheriffs dept as well as CA highway patrol to use this as a training facility.

I think that you need to lay down rules, and KEEP THEM STATIC. regardless if we think they are dumb or un-reasonable. Once you hash out a reasonable set of rules, PRINT THEM OUT and do not flex on them.

Hrm... Competition for CQB City? From what it sounds like initially, I'll stick to The City.
"If today is a good day to die, then how bad could it be to live today?"
Nov 20, 2007 6:46am
The main difference between us and CQB is that there will not be any hay bales or tires on our field, and the playing surface will not be concrete.
Nov 20, 2007 7:46am
Goo IS the important word. I just dont see the whole field being "cleaned" of paint..Scrubbing walls, inside and out..then your going to have wet, painty astro-turf Also in regards to astro-turf is it the real stuff or that cheap plastic stuff from Homedepot? I know for a fact that stuff will not last..
we might as well support cqbcity because their main focus is airsoft... but we understand that you have to follow the money..
If you give to a charity please think of giving to one of these two charities. The Naval Special Warfare Foundation or Navy SEAL Warrior Fund.
Now as stated CQBCITY has a pretty nice set up, and you get to play for 8 hours for $30. The thing is if you are going to be open only once a month for airsoft, we might as well support cqbcity because their main focus is airsoft...but we understand that you have to follow the money..
