Moving to Canada when I decide to start a family. That's how I'm solving this problem for myself.

Don't get me wrong, there is plenty wrong with health care everywhere, America included. For example, we pay more for health care and yet we're less healthy than many countries. In other countries they've got lines for non-urgent procedures. It's a crapfest in some way or another everywhere.

Moore is a piece of shit, but we do have massive health care issues due to insane amounts of private lobbyist controlling our government.

i have family in Canada. They dont have to wait months to see a Dr. thats just as much as a fabrication as many points made in SICKO. The problems they do have are in regards to elective surgeries, they cant get them..thats why they come here.

the healthcare system in the US blows. if you look at the statistics, we spend like 3x as much money as some european states yet we have higher rates of newborn death, lower average lifespans, and no universal healthcare. in terms of medical technology and state-of the-artness...we're second to none. it's just that only rich people can afford it while most everyone else is laid out to fend for themselves. medicare and medical is a joke, it's so fucking complicated. it covers such random shit and leaves important prodecures and screening out. i'm a fucking medical student and i get the rules for medicare and medicaid messed up all the time. how is a 65+ individual with dementia and no social support supposed to navigate the mess that is medicare part d?

I agree we need universal health care. We can spend billions playing "moral police" abroad but we cant even provide health care to some of our own people? how moral is that? Well I guess no more immoral than using UN sanctions to starve women and children....but hey we pick and choose moral stands Laughing depending on what is profitable at the time. "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations – entangling alliances with none." I hate that China listens to our founding father when we wont.
