expert's interpretation of laws regarding airsoft?

Nov 17, 2007 6:11am
I've spent a few hours searching for the answer, is it ok to remove the orange tips after purchase? I've read a lot of answers, but none are from anyone who would be considered a legal expert. I've also read the laws, and some parts are hard to interpret.

State law syas its required, thats a law, im no expert but I know its the law, call a lawyers office they tend to be "experts" or as much as they can be. Or call the local District Attorneys office they will know for sure.

Yeah the orange tip must be on. There is "NO" exceptions.

Actually if y'all read the entire law it states that we're supposed to have bright neon colored bodies.

in terms of having the airsoft guns, i know in sacramento and elk grove, it is illegal to discharge any weapon that expells a projectile. spent a good 4 hours at the PD of both, asking for the chief for his final word.

I seriously doubt that the US government is going to go knocking down doors to seize some kid's airsoft collection because he posted it on mySpace. It would be almost political suicide for any D.A., mayor or elected official to attempt to do so unless they are being pushed to so by some lobby group.

Anything can happen. Just like who's to stop someone from painting a real rifle with an orange tip?

I'll most likely ask the DA in my area, I was hoping that people in other areas could do the same too, just to see what the consensus is.

As shown in the forum I posted, the law is not 100% clear. Also, I don't think the DA's office can give me legal advice.

Ya, even if you have to go down there tot he office yourself, the DA is the one who defines the law for you if you have a question about it. Call or go down there yourself, just leave your toys at home of course. If they can't answer your questions, then they are retarded and need to be executed...in that case, call in for an airstrike and level the whole building, they might all be infected, and an airstrike is a great gaurantee to ensure no one survives to spread their retardation.
