Oakley Glasses

Nov 18, 2007 11:46pm
I was just wondering if I can use my Oakley Plutonite sunglass at a Sacair game. I remember someone tell me I couldn't due to the fact they don't wrap around my head or something like that. I know Pluonite properties and such due to the fact my uncle is the chemist who help create the spray for all the Oakleys and Oakley gave him and the team these protypes of the designs and then he just gave them to me for the hell of it. So I have face sealed goggles (ESS) and just wondering if I can use my glasses if I feel like it. Thanks.

my preference is a paintball mask covers whole face so you dont loose teeth :D

If you're a minor you should be wearing a full seal goggles, face mask or glasses. This is for your safety unless of course your parents are fully aware of the ocular damages you can receive by not wearing one and consent to the risk. It doesn't matter if they are ballistically rated or not. At one sacair game a girl wearing just glasses nearly got her eye shot out due to a full auto burst. The first bb hit and it dislodged her glasses, the second bb lifted the glasses off her eyes. The third glasses hit her right below her lower eyelid. She got a very nasty black eye because of it. The glasses were undamaged, she was very lucky.

croakies would fix the problem of glasses coming off. But as far as eye protection barring the protection being shot off, all Oakley glasses are sufficiently impact rated (god thats an awkward fragment). I wear my arnette swinger glasses.. i'm not sure if they're ansi rated but i know Ken was wearing his one day cuz he forgot to take them off and switch to other eye protection and got shot from close right in the eye and they stopped the bb fine. Airsoft is an at your own risk sport but ya Oakleys are rated to stop a bb.

at your own risk if you are 18 years or older. You cannot assume any form risk if you are a minor.

I wear regular sunglasses all the time - I try and shoot them a couple times before I field them - from about 5 feet. If they hold up, they're good to go...

I guess its up to me. The idea of a croakies is a good idea. Now only if I can get free pair of Oakley goggle protypes that would be so sweet.

Oakley claims that their lenses are BB proof but they don't claim they can prevent it from falling off your face when someone is going full auto at your face with an airsoft or paintball gun while you are running for cover.

I only wear fully sealed eyewear but then again I love my eyes if you choose not wear fully sealed then you chose to to lose an eye if that happens. Funny thing is though I can already hear it from somebody that this does happen to. THey will blame something else other than the fact that they did not wear sealed eyewear. I do not take chances on things that cannot be replaced.

Poser is partially correct here. Eyes can be replaced...Kinda.
