I have the systema turbo gearbox and motor in my MP5. it works great but eventually i am going to want a little more fps. currently it shoots 300fps and i am aiming for 350. I know this gear box and motor are built for ROF so what can I safely do to get it shooting 350 FPS without sacrificing reliability. it has a system 100 spring in it but if i swapped it for a guarder 100 i believe it would be closer to 350 fps but i am thinnking it may cause too much wear and tear since the gearbox and motor are deisgned for only a systema 100 spring. what are your thoughts on this?
Have you gotten a chance to chrono the gun yet? Thats pretty much the only way to tell the FPS of a gun.
Yes, I have chronoed it and it was at AEX (sac store) and at 300fps. I will try it at the Oakland store and see if it is any different but i doubt it would be off by roughly 50fps, or could it? so there should'nt be a problem with a higher rated spring, as long as it is below 400fps?
300 FPS with what weight of BBs ;)
If it is only shooting 300 fps with an m100 you have something else going on. You need to check you hop bucking first. Dirty barrel maybe as well?

Maybe the hop is set too high?

I'm not 100% sure but theres a possibility that when the nozzle chambers the first round, the next bb pushes up the nozzle (due to high tension from the compressed spring) a little bit creating a loss in air seal.
I don't think it is a mag problem because i chrononed it with a mag that was only 1/2 full.
Its possible that a one joule spring got stuck into the gearbox. It's unlikely, but it might have happened.
Thanks guys for all of your help. I am going to take it by AEX and have them check out the hop-up. that seems to be the most likely problem.
So everything checked out fine at AEX. Andrew took apart the gearbox and tried different springs but it still shoots low. with a guarder 100 it was only 320fps so i am stumped. I contacted redwolf but they havent responded.
