tightbore barrels. What do they do?

Tightbore's are really good at sorting out BB Imperfections, in the form of jamming your gun.

Yep I agree completely. I all so agree with booster, in gas guns for the most part they work well. I think all the TB madness is carried over from the classic era were the were a necessity. IE the ASAHI 100yard guns.

Also a tight bore with an adjustable hop in an APS2 back in the day helped a lot with accuracy (Mostly because it allowed you to use different weight BBs)

for all of you who stated that an increase in fps due to the tightbore. How many of you changed the hopup rubber? Or have any of you considered that perhaps after changing the barrel that the hopup rubber was reseated better? Or that the O.D. of the new barrel provided a better fit than the older one? There is way too many other variables to consider to definitely say that a tightbore increases FPS.

Oh yeah, also. Another observation. Difference in natural lighting and incandescent produces no effect on the chronograph readings.

Well, thanks for all the advise. I dont think i will get a tightbore barrel because of money issues and from what ive heard here i dont think i ever will. THANKS ALL!
