Which vest?
I am a sniper/mp5 guy so which of these vests would be best?

I wouldn't choose the first one if I were planning on crawling on the ground [like snipers do]. Do you snipe and use the Mp5 at the same time??
Gun control is not Crime control.
yeah like stone said i would not get the x-draw vest. well if i had to pick from one of the ones you picked i would get the TacForce SMG Tac Vest. i dont like the black vests because i think its makes a out line of your body when you are trying to hide in a bush or grass.
I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.

Me, personally, if I were a sniper with an mp5 as a backup, I'd get myself:
Gun control is not Crime control.
i would say a vest more like this would better. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MOLLE137-44933-1978.html

Just look for a SMG vest. Snipers don't need tac vests. Small sniper mags can fit in BDU pockets.

for sniping, i've found the best vest is either no vest at all or an old school y-harness lbe. when you're crawling around, you don't want all this shit on your ventral surface. a y harness will allow you to put all your canteen, mag pouches, dump pouches etc on the back of your waist so they don't impede crawling. or like stone said, just don't wear a vest when you're sniping.
What's a signature?
Ok so you either use the sniper gun or the MP5.

i was thinking of this one

If you want a real simple set up that doesn't cost much and you can get easily here is something to go for.Any surplus store will have this stuff, its generally cheaper than tack vests, light and easy to use.

I would go with a Blackwater padded molle belt and get molle pouches. Simple and nice. And you still have the chance to change it to your needs on very quick noticed. It cost a bit more but ts a nice setup. I was going to do this set up with a sepra holster and speedclips for my "Multicam M14" set up. I think it is nice =]

Try crawling 100 feet with a drop leg rig of just about any kind, kneel or stand up and see what happens.

So wouldn't the gear be better placed on the side of your rib cage.
What used to be on your thigh will be near your knee or next to your nuts. They don't stay put when you crawl.
Fat guys like myself have tapered thighs -- circumference gets greater higher up the leg. That combined with quite tight straps is probably why I've never experienced this issue. Either that or I don't crawl enough.

Asscheeks and kidney areas are good. On your arms is also good so long as it doesn't effect your ability to should and sling your rifle.

Hmmmm....that actually sounds like fun. Gonna have to make a sniper rifle to look like that broomstick of a rifle he carried in the movies though.
