Getting into airsoft....

Jan 2, 2008 11:07am
I have been thinking about starting airsoft for a while, and I've been hovering around this site. I live near Sacramento, so I thought this would be a good site to look at. I already have a good idea of what I might buy for the first gun, and other stuff like that, and I've researched different fields, but there's one problem I'm 14. I'm really worried that if I say "Mom, Dad, can I get a real airsoft gun that isn't clear plastic?" That they'll think that I'll turn into a homicidal maniac after I get it. They know that I am responsible enough for it, and I don't think that the cost of the equipment would bother them, and they bought a cheapo paintball gun for my younger brother, but I think that they would consider the realism to be frightening, Which is part of why airsoft seems more attractive than paintball.

Take them out to a game, have them talk to the admin of the game.

+1 for bringing them to a game and talking to an admin; its better than explaining it to them; plus when they see the amount of adults that play and most of them are responsible :P so it would be better to bring them out to a game and talk to an admin
