Military Discussion
Every branch gets treated differently from the start of basic training. But that is because of what each has it's specialty in.
I am a 33! Be proud of what you are...
eagle arent you MI? you dont have much experience with the army aside from sitting behind a desk like you said the most of the army gets stuck doing. Kinda pisses me off because i sit in the damn field 2 weeks a month atleast sucking my ass off doing sqaud/platoon/company live fires and you say most of us sit at a desk
I have alot of Marine, Army, AF, NG, CG and Navy brothers and sisters and I tell you what. I cant stand them at times, lol. We all shared the same thing... Pride. Pride for our country, pride for serving and pride of belonging. At first I wanted to join the Corps for the Dress Blues (PLEASE DON'T EVER JOIN FOR A UNIFORM). My friends joined for other reasons. Some good and some not so good. The thing is you have to go for yours. I can't tell you to go Marines and not Army just because I went. You have to do it for yourself. I (Like others) can give you some advise. You know what.. My recruiter told me this and I Quote:

ya to be honest though the deciding factor that is making me choose marines at this point in time. is the pride, the training and the uniform. who knows i might change my mind

aaaahhhhhhhhhhgh!
from my VERY limited experiences, do ROTC. Its a good way to become an officer, and in the end, you will have a college degree. Also, if you are worried about paying for college, you can get a scholarship from them. just my .02
My Uncle works at the university of wisconsin, and helps with the ROTC program there. (Prior marine, worked as a LEO, now professor in criminal justice there)
