new to area

Hey all, like the title implies, I'm new to thea area. I just got stationed out at Travis AFB and have no idea where anything is out here. I was a very active member of the airsoft community back in Houston and now I'm teamless...anyone got an opening? Keep in mind though that I am active duty military...and I have something of an odd schedule...I will not however be leaving the area anytime during the course of the next two years...so how bout it guys room for one more?

No team is necessary to play with sacair. Moreover, I should say it's not encouraged nor discouraged since it's alot of informal games that's meant to be loose and carefree. There are a couple of adult based teams while most are the young'ns look'n for a "club" like atmosphere. So just come out and play. You'll eventually play with the groups of people you tend to enjoy the company of more anyhow.

thanks for the heads up. It was a similar community back in Houston but some of the older players tended to take the tactical aspect of the game more seriously hence the teams. the other aspect of looking for the team is finding players who know the area not to mention NOT looking completely clueless when you show up for that first game in a new community.

eh...I'd say a good 75% of the adults who play do it for the pure enjoyment of it regardless of how "tactical" one is. Regardless of whether or not you know the area I think half the time we're clueless too just look'n to sling some plastic death.

haha good to know... It's just kinda habit for me having been in the army...Don't get me wrong, I'm strictly in it for the fun, but anything that can help keep me sharp is a definite bonus. I'm not one of those crazy mil-sim nazis, but I do like a little more seriousness every now and then... You're right though, slinging plastic death is definitely what it's all about. That and the hokey pokey...and the occasional working girl...

you'll get along just fine then. You'll find the ones who are the most laid back can also be the most "tactically savvy" around here.

yea well...I'm just here fro the beer. Maybe start a little trouble if I can. Meet some new people, get to know 'em, shoot at 'em. Not in conjunction with the other two of course. That would be irresponsible. And members of the United States military are NEVER irresponsible. ever. seriously...I'm glad I'm typing this...don't think I could say that with a straight face...heh
