Lefty trouble with m4

Oct 26, 2004 9:26am
I'm left handed and when I sling my m4 the mag release gets depressed and the mag falls out. Simpl enough problem but does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do?

lol joe..anyways ill tell you what th reason why your mag keeps dropping is cause you holding the rifle with the wrong hand....your all backwards...HAHAHA...i dont think thre is a way to stop that unless you get a different sling system.

I wonder if it's an issue on the real m4. I'll have to ask my friend's brother(lefty and in the army).

not a problem in the army, or military at that, real M4s you have to pretty much shove the mags in, pretty much force them in just about, most mags that is, to take them out...MAG PULLS, easier to get them out of your pouches and out of your gun as well. that should answer you question, i know cause i have fired a couple m4s on occasions. get a CA metal body. those usually wont let the mag drop out, i think, cant remember.

Maybe you can find a slightly stronger spring for the mag catch/release. One that won't depress when against your gear.

sounds like a good idea...i mean since lfties use their right hand to take the mag out...they prolly use their thumb to press on the mag catch...at least I do...
