The TM 1911 and P226 use the same internals so they have the same accuracy, gas consumption and upgradeability.

It's all a matter of preference any TM GBB you get will most likely serve you well and last for years if kept stock. I myself prefer the 226 just because of the way it fits in my hand. If you want rubberized grips with finger grooves for increased control (imho at least) then get some Hogue grips for whatever gun be it a 1911, sig226, etc..

I own a TM p226 I bought it with a Guarder metal body kit from E-hobby Asia and initially I had some mag fitting issues that caused a bunch of weird problems, I mostly have that sorted out now and I'm very pleased... probaly should have just stuck with the plastic stock version and saved some money and frustration. I own a TM P226, and for Airsoft the decision between the P226 and the 1911 is purely a matter of how well the gun feels in your hands. The 1911 should have a very short, crisp, single action trigger pull (SAO) compared to the 226's longer pull (DA/SA).

I have had both, both tricked out with guarder kits.

the 1911 also uses more gas per bb and cools down a little faster then a p226. but the first couple of rounds out of my 1911 crono'd at 350-360 then cooled down and seemed to settle at 325ish. but if you like to lay down on the trigger I'd go with the 226, or a hicapa

I'm thinking of picking up a TM P226. What kind of holster should I get?

I have both the safariland and serpa. It's hard to say which is better since they are both pretty good at retention. Safariland's is bulkier but is still comfortable. Serpa's have a better retention system but has it's own flaws especially when dealing with RS. I say go with the one that is less expensive. The draw on a serpa is faster then a safariland.

Could you say what those flaws in RS are Freq? I walk in June and was thinking of getting myself a graduation present...

The rentention system locks itself around the trigger guard. There have been a few incidents of accidental discharges while drawing. It has been attributed to that lock.

how is the 1911 SAO? (and from research their is no such things as Single Action Only)...

There is DAO, DA/SA,or SA.
Jan 28, 2008 5:29am
single-action only, performs the single action of releasing the hammer or striker, which discharges the firearm

ok...

On the first trigger pull of a DA/SA your finger is working to do two things: cocking and then releasing the hammer or striker. This means a heavier trigger pull.

Another question, how adjustable is the 6004/5 and/ or Serpa tactical? I've had a lot of trouble with other droplegs since I've got slim thighs and short stature lol. I really don't wanna drop a ton of money and then have the rig slip and slide like a cheapie holster.
Jan 29, 2008 4:17am
Both are highly adjustable in all aspects.
