Being from Alaska where we have no reason to worry about snakes, ticks, chiggers, etc. Since I'm moving to Sac soon I'm curious on how much you guys encounter these problems out on the fields. I did use the search and didn't really find any solid answers so I am sorry if this has been discussed before. Thanks in advance.

LOL if you live in an urban area you do not have to worry about it. If you get up towards the mountains or delta you may have to worry about Rattle snakes, Corn and gopher. But you should be alright. And do not worry about the search LOL I am pretty sure you would not find anything on this.

Mosquitoes is a major problem especially with the West Niles Disease. Rattlers are only in certain areas and certain times of the year. Poison Oak is prevailant come late winter, early spring. Ticks are common in the summer time. I've seen quite a few ticks, never been bitten thank God but they're out there. Spray repellents and certain vitamins help with the mosquitoes.

hahah, yeah the mosquitos I can deal with, the ones we have up here are huge, mean, relentless bastards. Thanks for the info though, I appreciate it. More or less I askes because I'm fairly unfamiliar with venomous snakes and spiders and the like. It's too damn cold up here, even in the summer for them

Oh yes the spiders. Spiders are generally tame out here. They like dark, thick bushes and out of the way places. Black widows are common in California but I've yet to meet one while playing. But then again I'm not the type to go tromping through the very thick parts of the field.

I have seen rattlers a few times out there, just stay away form them and alert a game admin so you can change areas to play, no need for a ratteler to die for us.
The main threat at games is the Ding.
The Ding huh? Sounds kinda eerie lol

remember he was asking about the game field, not where he's living.
