burlap. its a really interesting idea. there are a lot of ways to go about making one
good ghillie takes 50-60 hours. but its alot more satitsfying and far more durable. just remeber to sew with dental floss.

ya. its far more durable than thread. just be sure to hide the funky green. thicken it up with some burlap, and when in the field sprinkle with natural vegitation. after a couple hours of laying on my buttons, i decided to cut them off. go with a zippered front. far more suitable for low crawls.

I have a home made burlap ghillie.
[quote="Amateur Ninja"]obviously you dont know him.
also, make sure to camo up your gun, otherwise a ghillie would be pointless.

im taking the cheap and easy road out. buying a cheap backpack and some camo netting. im sewing a patch of cloth to connect the camo netting to the inside of the backpack. when i need to use the ghillie, i pull the camo net out of my backpack and cover myself.
im familiar with this technique, though it was not attached to backpack. it's a ghillie "net" which allows both the spotter and shooter to remain hidden while engaging multiple targets.

yup. 10x10 is plenty for a shooter and a spotter.

make sure to age it. stick it in the mud for a week or so. then spray it off. drag it behind your car or bike to tear it up a bit.

well. theres alot more for it to be a "legit" ghillie. it all depends whether or not you want the dogs to smell you. that would take river water though.
