Convert M1 Carbine to Semi.

Oct 6, 2003 9:48pm
Does anyone have a M1 Carbine (8mm)? Are they any good? I want to get one, put an airborne folding stock on it, and then convert it to semi like the real thing. Can this be done?

no it is not semi, you have to cock it after each shot.... Wilco has one... I bet you could get a autococker's ram hooked up somehow to blow the bolt back and forth after each shot... that gets kind of complicated though... need the 3-way to activate the ram, and regulated co2 or n2 to power it... dunno what other ways there would be....

Wilco you should post a review on the M1 so we know the good and bad points. Not being semi-auto is a bad point.

It's a cool gun you guys. I was talking to wilco and he likes it a lot. The downsides are that its only single and a 13 round clip. Hard to find a scope mount for it. But still the gun is bad ass. Lots of fire power due to the fact that with 134 gas it was shooting around 330 fps I think. With top gas well lets just say dang.

the M1 is a cool gun but it has a few draw-backs, one it is shorter than you'd think(about 3 feet) it is single shot and powerful but 8MM isn't very accurate, you have buy a real steel mount and custom build a way to attach it and the scope is far back on the reciever, its internals are ok but making it semi would be hard, it also is wood so it can work itself loose after a game or two, it is rather hard to get any parts for it because there are none so you have to make them PS: if you want one I will be selling mine as soon as I get a couple kills with it
