so this morning my friend and i were playing airsoft 1 on 1 on some land that is open space next to my home. we were taking a break and noticed a sherrif's car in the distance. Being a 34 year old adult who is playing in basically my side yard that was reserved for the public to enjoy we stopped what we were doing and started down the hill that we were on to greet the sherrif. We have gates and security guards in the subdivision and one of these old crotchety guys had called the Sherrif. We had only seen one cop car, but when going to meet them without our guns to eliminate threat, we came upon the old security officer and 8, yes 8 sherrif's in armour. The security guy thought he was going to scare the shit out of some kids and was leading the way.

A) They yelled at you to stop and put you in cuffs

You said it happened this morning, and last time I checked internet access was not available via holding cell. Regardless of what happened next, I think you should consider yourself VERY lucky you weren't arrested. Guns or not, if they were eight of them wearing armor, I highly doubt that they came to "scare" you.

coming upon one pissed off security guard, the sherrif's saw us and just laughed. two fat, middle aged guys with toy guns (though be it realistic looking). They went up to our camp area and brought our guns back down by us. The lead officer was holding my M4 and went through the features from the charging handle to the metal barrel to show me that it does look real so we need to be careful where we play. A really nice guy, he went on to ad he had one at home as well. :D

that happened to me, accept the took all three of my guns: tanaka m40, tm upgraded p90, and upgraded ca m4... :cry:

Even if it's your land you were still breaking the law since it is illegal to do so when it's visible to the public (ie the security guard). Furthermore EDH may have a city codes against firing real firearms, paintball, bb's and airsoft guns within their jurisdiction except for sanctioned commercial sites.

So a few weeks ago my brother in law were preparing for a game on a levee across from brand new homes that sold for more than six figures. We had not even taken the table out of the truck bed when I told every body I saw a Sheriff's vehicle a good distance away.

lol. In my immature Airsoft days Officers would just tell us to go home. Then again I wouldn't have cared if he took my $40 clear rifle from Wal-Mart

True, but if you threw that clear gun next to a quality gun, that a difference between an office drawing his weapon and not.

I don't believe that airsoft itself has been actually listed in any laws yet. It's just lumped to together with other non-lethal projectiles.

the same goes for murder, its only illegal if you get caught.

kalifornia is a state not a county. Plus I was speaking about the entire state as a generality and a region. And I know it's primarily cities that have ordinances against it.
