Trying to make it better for everyone.

[quote="ukau"][quote="Macres"][quote="ukau"][quote="freq88"]Even if it's your land you were still breaking the law since it is illegal to do so when it's visible to the public (ie the security guard). Furthermore EDH may have a city codes against firing real firearms, paintball, bb's and airsoft guns within their jurisdiction except for sanctioned commercial sites.

First I would like to thank everyone for their input. This was at worst an exciting morning for me yesterday. The sidenote is my wife had at me because we live at the end of the street and all 4 sherrif's cars were in front of our house on the end of a court in Serrano. So a few responses.
Drive fast, drink hard and don't hesitate to shoot your friends.

how is he making it better for all of us

We have established that wraith, thank you. However, there are still some of us who would disagree with the situation entirely. Yes, those Sheriffs may have been enlightened to the idea of airsoft that day. He mentioned that one of them even had an airsoft gun at home. However, I do not think it was a wise choice to begin with. Being in LEO training myself, he's lucky he wasn't arrested, or worse. I wouldn't preach the idea of skirmishing on public land, and in view of the public eye. Especially if it wasn't a common activity for that area, and I mean common as in a designated airsoft field. I stated this earlier, but we are lucky to have such freedom with our airsoft guns in California. Some states and ever other countries have rules you wouldn't believe. Take this incident and multiply it times 100 and could have one hell of a problem. I'm not trying to put the guy down, in general, I don't think it was a wise choice. I'm not trying to start a flame war as we have done before in the past, but like I said before, agree to disagree.

Macres, you make a somewhat valid arguement, but it's flawed. If we apply your axiom of "never let the public see us play," We'd NEVER be able to play at ANY of the Sacair fields, including those on private land such as Wheatland (in sight of a major highway) and Ukau's field (in view of a public road).
"People aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I do naive bubbleheaded optimists who walk around vomitting sunshine."

Regardless of your numerous pullovers, it still does not give you the right to assume that all rookies are dicks. If you met me in person, "a cop" is that last thing you would assume I am aspiring to be. With that being said, I was angry to hear that you ASSUME that all rookies assume that everyone else is a second class citizen. Regardless of how many cops you have as friends, it still doesn't make you one, nor does it give you the right to talk like you have first hand experience with "rookies." I'm sorry that I gave you the impression I am going to be like one of those officers, and believe me that is the last type of LEO I want to become. So in fairness, I apologize.

as i read the text of the law (see laws section of forums) - it does seem to imply that even on private land, if you are seen "brandishing" a realistic immitation firearm, you are guilty of a finable offence (infraction).
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

Last year, I got a got a call about 3am about someone shooting a BB gun at passing cars. I figured it was going to be someone playing with an Airsoft gun.

I think I would have blown that f ucker away. He was lucky, as were you. I hope you learned from that experience cuz I learned from just reading it haha. Thanks for sharing that information and wow... you should have shot him. I say I think I would have because I can't say for sure because I have never been in that situation. I know you know how lucky you are.
