As for the first question i really dont know but for the second i have a Sony VAIO Laptop and i would highly reccomend it. Yes it is Vista but if all you are doing is music and internet it is awesome. I have had the VGN-FZ140E model and have had it for about 3 months. It has never given me one problem. It is a little pricey but i think it is worth it. It has the XBRITE screen so when you are listening to music on media player it looks really cool.

Kalthrax's advice is great. I'd add ccleaner also. All else fails, download

I recommend Apple...easy to use...pretty much foolproof. Can do everything you need it to and runs Windows if you are so inclined. Styling is the best out there. Check them out.

The mac pc debate has been a long and heated one. basic bottom line
Not so much with the bugs...the new Intel powered Macs run Windows....as a matter of fact, they were the fastest Vista machines for a bit (may still be, not sure). They are a pretty nice platform with features that are yet to be found on a PC as integrated into the OS as they are in OSX. Once again, check them out...they now carry them at BestBuy.

No, the new Intel Macs actually do a partition that you can install Windows to, no emulation required. Check out Bootcamp. But, let's get out of this thread and let the Admiral decide.....
you can partion ANY computer to do something else
