This has always been a favorite of mine!
I don't know where that Skunk Ape sleeps, but I do know that he had impure relations with my wife.

Not to say anything about but it scares me that some of the guys on this site may own real weapons. Check out the Kimbers good guns feel good in my hands you may like them. as for caliber thats a personal preference thing.

I'd go with the sig.

I shot a friends Kimber a few times, very nice gun, but they can get pricey. However I do agree with Buzcuits regarding Sigs, and the prices aren't outrageous either. Out of the guns you listed, have you had a lot of range time with any them? Just curious which one you preferred.

I bought a kimber when I got out of the army and I'll swear by the thing...I love it...

If I were out of state and had $1600-ish to spend, I would buy a Les Baer Stinger 1911.

I'd go with the P229, really nice pistol.

If anyone has the time, you could check out the 1000 rounds challenge on a Para PXT 1911 SSP.

Extractor issues, and some quality control issues for the factory dealing with sears. If I remember right there were some issues nationaly with ADs with some Paras. However this was back in 1999, 2000.

can go wrong with a s&w 40.cal
Feb 9, 2008 2:54am
I personally won't buy any gun made by S&W as they were one of the first companies to cave to the Anti Gun zealots.

If I were you, and don't have a .40 cal, I'd go with a SIG 226, it's a good gun, and has a tac rail, and your not going to spend that much, it's a all around good quality gun
Feb 9, 2008 3:27am
My being scared of people owning a gun has nothing to do with their rights. I own several guns. It's the way the guns are handled. That's all. I didn't want to start anything like this. my bad.
