Not Quite Sure...?

Feb 12, 2008 4:15am
I a just going to be short sweet and to the point. I have idea on what gun to get and have absolutly no idea of my shooting styles. With that said I am turning to the alternative which would be just looking at random guns and seeing if i like how they look AND their price.

no matter what your experience is is with "paintball" sniping. It's nothing like airsoft sniping.

just wondering, but what is your price range. im guessing not that much because the guns you posted up are not that expensive

I've been slowly converting my co-workers and friends into airsoft... All of them have said at first, "I want to be a sniper."

the best snipers I've come across have done so with a "bang" kill and or completely snuck up behind me. That is about as sniperish as one can get in the airsoft world.

I'm a listener to DeadRag Radio and a reader of of AI, and typically they comment on new people always wanting to get into "sniping" when it comes to airsoft. And I agree with them that what we do isn't really sniping at all. We don't stake out the field and call in enemy movements after twenty hours of staying in one spot with a spotter and high-powered gas/spring rifle. A sniper's job is also to take out high-value targets (High Ranking members and such) We don't do that. What the closest thing a Airsofter can do is being a Designated Marksmen or Sharpshooter, which normaly is being grouped with a squad with a bolt action or m14 (or any rifle for that matter) and take shots at long range to keep the enemy's head down.

again you don't need a "sniper" in order to be a DMR/sharpshooter.

I am not trying to be mean in any way but i have gotten very few GOOD advice out of this post. all i have heard is that i shouldn't try to be a sniper and the every new player wants to and i am just one more addded to the bunch. if you do not like my gun selections then suggest some....

as a fellow sniper listen to Dev What he is a sniper and him both get frustraited when we cant hit a guy at 100ft with our rifles becaus ethe wind is not in our favor, then the guy next to you with an m4 sprays 80 rounds and hits the guy it gets upsetting...

i wasn't a sniper but i was trained as one. (was the spotter) personally it kind of ruined my life dream. i got sent up on the hill to watch the rest of my team through my scope as they kicked down doors and assaulted the place. six hours of just laying there wasnt all that great and that was just training. Down range youll be in the same spot for days at a time. ***K that. i'd rather fast rope in after the sniper gave me a positive ID.

if you want to see if your into sniping (and dont want to attend to sacair games) i would buy an aeg (tm ca) and upgrade it to 450 fps aex upgrade 150$ plus gun 250-350 pricy yes but snipers are about the same price 500$ get a scope and basicly your a DMR sharpshooter i had a frend do this and he discovered that he hated all the danm waching and waiting and what do you know he had an aeg insted of being stuck with a 500$ sniper (i say 500$ because the tm sniper he posted needs upgrades to be a good sniper    ) this way if your a spray and pray type (wich most people are) you can do what you people do best (no raicist commit was ment by you people)

if it wasn't meant to be racist then why even say it? If it's off-colored inside joke then it really shouldn't be made public like this. Also it isn't always about spray-n-pray. It's about being a part of the action. Airsoft is limited in range but it's also very sporadic and fast moving. Most people find themselves out of the game before it even starts because they aren't in the right place or can't do anything because the safety limitations placed on "snipers".
