I think the only one's trying to equate one with the other are both far right and far left wingers. Every rational sane person can differentiate the two. What is upsetting alot on this board is the protestor's calling the Corps war criminals. Of which they are not of course.

If you give to a charity please think of giving to one of these two charities. The Naval Special Warfare Foundation or Navy SEAL Warrior Fund.

why are you quoting me and then reposting information I already know and understand?

the board started it and now they are trying to get out of the issue. But they do not back peddle very well. Thats all.

There is no doubt that UCB has some of the finest programs in the nation. It however doesn't have the history and or age to put it amongst the greatest colleges of America.
the counsel is a bunch of wannabe politicians. personally I think they're trying to keep from doing the job of managing the city and it's real problems.

at least other cities do it the right way by bickering over stupid local issues like what time the gardners can turn on their leaf blowers.

I feel that UCB has a lot of history that allows it to be in the category of greatest colleges. In fact, I say not only is it great among United States colleges but also it ranks high against other international institutions.

How can you support the troops and not support the war? Thats like saying "I support you as a person but everything that you do in your capacity as that person i despise." Its a walking contradiction. I could say more but its already been said by someone else who I'll quote below. I'll leave out his name but suffice it to say that he is a Major in the army, wounded and still undergoing surgeries and rehab. He wrote this in a capacity as an individual and in no way as a representative of the US Army. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way so no one gets in trouble...
RCAS: It's quite easy, I have many friends who are in the military who I love. They have communicated to me that they feel they have been mislead, even for simple things like sign up benefits etc (never mind political stuff) and They are genuinely scared of dying for a cause that they don't believe in at this moment in time.

What's a signature?
Sadly, times haven't changed so much in my neck of the woods. I told a few people this story about how I've been called a baby killer, (cowards yelling from across the road) and asked if I enjoyed killing women and children. My latest come back is, "if it weren't for me you'd be speaking Russian."
Every day above ground is a good day.
A local governments job is to support the will of the people it represents. If a majority of the citizens in Berkeley think the recruiters are unwelcome I feel it's the city councils obligation to take action on this idea. Code Pink is total BS though.

This whole thing is slightly moronic to me. The USMC have as much right as any other certified institution/organization to recruit from the streets and our public schools. They aren't selling drugs or trying to get you to join the local street gangs after all.
