I like that ghillie apache. Home made? How does working the bolt work for you with that netting?

When I first made the wrap, I made it too long, as seen in the first "wrapped" picture, where it extended past the trigger and well onto the cheek rest. Ya..after about twenty minutes of in the field experience with it like that, I pulled out my Kershaw and cut it off just above the bolt handle. So now it runs to that part and is amazing, the netting holds everything in place and is very easy to thread basically any kind of foilage into.
How come you went with the camo netting as opposed to burlap for your weapon?

burlaps nice, but it frays, gets in the bolt, and I just thought of the idea of camo netting being much more versatile to each field I am at. It is mostly OD and tans with some brown so it pretty much blends in everywhere and the netting allows me to just pull up a clump of weeds and shove them through a hole. Within five minutes I can turn my rifle into a weed ha.
Good call. I was taught to use rubber bands and burlap. You get the rubber band stuck on a branch you can just snap it off. I've used netting too though, but as long as you keep the burlap free from the action youre all good.

hah...honestly man, i just got a 10x10 piece of netting, layed my rifle on top of it, cut out how long i wanted it and started gluing away. It should be the same with netting and jute, just dye the jute (if you dont want it tan) then tie bunches together in each net square or however much you want for the desired effect. then just hot glue or shoegoo it on. I found hot glue works the best, its not too hard so if you need to take it off it comes off easy but it holds it on there firmly and doesnt mess up my paintjobs :) Just mess with it till you feel right about it.
