New "Revolutionary" Systema Gearbox
Kiped this from the news section over on Arnies. Looks pretty sweet.

I'm genuinely interested in this new mech box. But since I'm not entirely familar on the differences between Ver 2, and Ver 3 boxes, I assume this box is only designed for the TM M4 platform? Not a Ver 3 AK or MP5? Or am I just under educated in gear boxes, and that the same shell runs in those three types of AEGs?
Ver 3 is for m4/m16, g3, and standard mp5. So ya, so far the gearbox is just for those. Or just M4 depending on nozzle and selector plate design.

Don't you mean V2?

R&D ends in March at which time tooling will begin. So this should be available by June/July time frame. Gonna pick me one up :)

Looking forward to this one.
If there aren't any performance gains what's really the point of buying this? Estimated MSRP is $500. I'd rather get a standard reinforced gb and upgrade that.

Capable of 3rd burst I don't think it's standard. There is a lot of performance gains to this beyond what the current v2 gearbox provides. Not to mention that it's also going to be reinforced properly. Some of the performance gains...

This box is very cool, I saw it at gamepod a couple weeks ago when the owner of redwolf was there hanging out with the owner of gamepod.
Look its a bird its a plane, no its just my broken aeg flying all over the place.
read the article, it seems to have it merits, all in all im getting one I think. Now i just need a gun.
buy mine!!!

Yup I will be getting one too as well when they come out. If you ever shot a PTW then you will love this box.
Ok, so Im a total nub when it comes to most gun internals, so will this regualte the gun to stop it from firing when your out of ammo, and all the things that a ptw will do?

Clonemarine, no it will not offer the anti-dry fire/bolt catch functionality or quick change cylinder feature of the PTW.

OMG i so wish i had the moment on film, epic awseomeness that can never be reached agian. lol
Hahaha I remember that story.
It will not need any upgrading ether and should be able to take at least a m130 maybe even m150 without any upgrading needed.

Yeah you can forget about the bolt hold open deal unless they can put a sensor in the chamber as the PTW uses a tab on the back of the mag to tell the sensor when the mag is empty.
I think he meant the spring rates. It will of course require specifically made springs for it.

Supposidly theres an article on airsoft mechanics how to modify your gun/mags to simulate the locking of the gun like the PTW.
I read something like that too and if I remember corectly it used a sensor in the hopup unit to see bbs but I also remember it being kinda unreliable.
there's quite a few homebrew efforts out there. I believe there was a tracer unit using the hopup unit itself to charge the bb's.

meh, I might jump on the bandwagon
God save us everyone will be burning inside the fires of a thousand suns.
if TM makes a new M4 using the T89/AK74M style of bb feed I'm sure someone can make a anti-dry fire feature with that easily.
