Negative. After close investigation I found it to only be a cosmetic part so I just super glued it back together. At least the laser still works. Phew.

A legit PEQ 2 is used to mark targets. Most NVGs don't allow the operator to use his Irons or HWS so the PEQ2 puts out an IR laser to mark his target. It also has a visibile laser for operators without NVGs and operating at night but gives away your position. Best to use them against an enemy without Night Vision capability.
