Sharpshooting class?
three numbers brother...2...4....9
[quote="K12azy13astard"] To be a sharpshooter or a designated marksmen, we still follow the idea of a sniper in terms of scouting ahead, but without the high powered rifle.
From what I have been taught, there is a *$&% of stuff you need to know. Among all the field, ballistics, mental, weapons, and other training you receive, to be a sniper or even a DM in some cases, you must be able to incorporate them all in a split seconds time. It comes down to the point where you have to construct your ghillie so well that when the wind hits it, your scraps of burlap will blow in the propper direction so as not to draw attention. When it comes down to actually taking the shot you've got a lot to do too, and its all in your head. Through experience you'll get it down stat, but in the begining, you're bound to miss something meaning you'll pay for it. Ususally one shot will be brought together with hundreds of considerations, ballistics, target's environment, use of deadly force, continuum of force, seven circumstances for the deadly use of force, ROE depending on SOP, and a bunch of other stuff. In my opinion it'd be best to call this class a class on how to use your AEG, and fire it accurately and effieciently.
"Those who wish to reap the blessings of liberty must undergoe the fatigues of supporting it."
LET THERE BE SNIPING!
"we'll be impossible to spot in our ghillie suits..."
Thats a great idea! Props for thinking it up.

good idea. but like you said...
you can pay for school but you cant buy class
well it all depends on what upgrades you put in if you guys want proof ask cagedconner about the ukau's nite game.... i got a shot in, almost accross the whole field most guys out there never got to me cause i had way more range than anyone i even engaged with a group of guys and i can hear them running around screaming sniper LOL that was kinda funny but there was no way they can get to me with aeg's so they sent out like 4 guys to find me. its all in the upgrade also how many aeg's shoot over 200 ft not to many i dont think.
"1 shot 1 kill"
I miss my aug :( i like being amongst the "very few aeg's" with sniper range
i am my teams DMR and like they said i dont hang back like a sniper would.snipers can spend days in the same position waitng for a target to come. DMR's are with the assault group and take shots that most people cant take. so guns i have seen DMRs use are M14's or certain types of M4's.
-insert failed attempt of something funny here-
DM would be a good sniping class for airsoft. because u have more than one shot. that way you can arc if need be. and take multiple shots.
you can pay for school but you cant buy class
There is a huge disadvantage to being a sniper in airsoft, with the 400fps range of most AEGs. I mean, even though a highly upgraded sniper rifle is accurate, even the slightest amount of wind can through the bb off and make you miss, thus giving away your position and getting mowed down by 50000 bbs. But like Russian said, it's challenging, and that is also why I enjoy doing it. Kind of like using a shotgun, there is a big disadvantage but its fun.
I think its a hella good idea, not just for snipers but kinda like a range day for anyone with a gun to tune it exactly the way they like it and to become familiar with how it shoots.... I'd rather have a sniper with me rather than against me!!!!

Good luck man. I tried hosting a class very similar to this. Only it covered marksmenship, fieldcraft, camo, and gun safety all it one day.
I agtree with Erin. Everyone needs to improve, yet noone thinks they need to go to a "class". For DM's and Snipers I think safety and weapons knowledge is more important than how to judge wind, sighting and stuff.

Ya, but you atleast informed me you couldn't make it. You didn't wuss out the morning of cause it was sprinkling.
it's so easy even a caveman can do it. Besides we're all J. Hancock when it comes to airsoft sniping.

There are a ton of books on shooting that can help with the mental game. Two of my favorites are Marine Sniper about Carlos Hathcock and The Highpower Rifle by G. David Tubb. I spent most of the 90's shooting 200 - 600 yd NRA Highpower (iron sights) and 200 - 1000 yd tactical (scoped).
If you ever do anything like this contact me I will be there I have read some books on the matter but it would be nice to talk to someone who really knows what they are doing and I have ben waiting to go to one of these things for a long time
It's not the dog in the fight but the fight in the dog.
Id have to agree on the idea. definently something that would take actual dedication to do but would greatly be helpful. I dont know much but i do have some general fieldcraft knowledge and ballistic knowledge. Im certaintly not a pro tho. DMR is a skill/position that is vastly untapped.
