ya non frontline people were given sidearms, or for example certain personel in a mortor crew would be issued a sidearm instead of a rifle.

ya im lookin for one right now, im thinkin about takin the short cut and gettin the bastardized blade, and get a repro 16in. scabbard. finding a nice 16in blade is some serious bank.
