Tightbores

Mar 21, 2008 9:24pm
I'm thinking about getting a tightbore barrel for my gun and I want to know which one is gonna be the best. Its the same M14 I've posted about before, but since I have a suppressor on it and it's gonna be a DMR, I''m gonna get a 650-680mm tightbore. I've looked at the Mad bull Black Python for about $30 and a Prometheus 650mm for $65. Why is the Prometheus so much more, and will it help my accuracy a lot more than the Black Python? Also, are there any other tightbores that would be as good or better than the two I have mentioned?

I've had horrible luck with the Madbull barrels. Too tight and lots of jams. Your mileage may vary.

I have a Prometheus as well and didn't notice a difference. It wasn't until after I put in the Big Out H-Nub and Mad Bull hop up bucking that I started to notice tighter groupings and better range (300mm TBB M4 CQB setup ~400FPS). I would try out a H-nub and upgraded hop up bucking first since its a bit cheaper than a promy or madbull tbb. The h nub and hop up bucking will help with your range and the tbb will help with tighter groupings. I honestly think that they only work in pairs (TBB matched with a H-Nub and Upgraded Hop-Up Bucking) in order for you to see a difference.

Go with a KN tightbore if you think you really need one. I wanted a longer inner barrel so I went with a 550mm KN tightbore in my M16.
I have always acted in self defense, occasionally pre-emptive self defense.

Ok, where can I get this H-nub thing. I'm already getting new hop packing and bucking. And for the barrel, will just the 150mm length difference from the one I have now make a difference in groupings?

Also, how is the TM stock hop up system? For more accuracy and consistency do I need a whole new hop up unit, or will just getting new packing and bucking help? And should I got with systema, guarder, or G&G hop up stuff be better.

The stock TM Hop-Up unit is fine, I still have mine. I just replaced the nub and bucking. Not sure where online you can get the H-Nub from, I purchased it from my local airsoft store (American Tactical Fresno, CA), as well as the bucking. Airsoft Gi has the bucking, I got the Mad Bull 60degree Blue Bucking (http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_170&products_id=3051)

Did a google search. WGC Shop (http://www.wgcshop.com/) has the Big Out H Nub.

I think I'm gonna go with Systema hop up rubber. It is black, and says that it is good for fast shooting guns. My M14 is at 400 now with .2's but I'm thinking about getting the full auto disabled and bringing it up to 500-550. I can't find the Big Out H Nub on wgc shop. do you just type that in in Search or what?

On the left click parts... then look for the company Big-Out. The systema bucking is great as well.

I use large BB like madbull and tightbore. Madbull bbs has a diameter of 5.98+-0.01mm. 6.03-5.98+-0.01mm = 0.04~0.06mm.

In my personal experience, 6.03 barrels give the extra fps, but not the range. I had better experience with the KM 6.04 and PDI 6.05 barrels.
