removing paint from a glock slide

Dec 11, 2004 4:54am
I tried nail polish remover (which worked like a charm on my other glock slide), gasoline and carb/brake cleaner to remove the redish paint from my new KWA G17 and am not getting even the slightest bit of red tinge on the rag I'm using to scrub it with... Literally zero paint removal. What the hell kind of paint is this? Is this epoxy-based paint? What sort of solvent should I hit it with?

I'm sure Aircraft Remover will take it off. Be aware though.

with my glock's metal slide i had to run it down with some sandpaper. i had the same problem, it was like plastic paint, wouldn't come off for the life of me. used a couple different grits, then just went back over with krylon camo, which works wonderful.

use that green dish washer cloth.. its like iron wool but its not. Then dip it in acetone or something and scrub away. It works great for me.

Didn't any of you read the Jungletoy catalog?

I also read that sticker on my KWC that says "WARNING! Don't shoot the creature"...
