The problem with Islam is that it says you have the right to defend your religion if its being attacked. So one person might beat the crap out of someone for making remarks against there religion, and another might only do it if a Holy War were to happen again like the Crusades.

Any religion taken to an extreme is a danger. It's not the religion , it's the fanatics that take things to the extreme. It only takes a few jackasses to tarnish the entire image of a culture/religion/whatever.

as yes, i knew i'd heard those passages before... doesn't say anything about stoning them just that they will "surely be put to death". No mention of by whom or how. Taking Thou Shalt Not Murder into account as well no individual can do it, it would have to be done by god or by a court system of some sort.
