RED RING OF DEATH!

Apr 1, 2008 4:14am
my xbox 360 of which ive owned for nearly 2 and a half years has just shown me the red ring of death! so now i have to ship it to microsoft to be worked on... but i am very pleased with the customer service that the microsoft company has. they send you the box and mail order card tells you how to pack the xbox then they repair it and send it back all for free! so just throwing it out there for people who own older xbox 360's...

Rhe same thing happend with me. They sent me a replacement with my old hard drive in a new one and got me going with in 2 weeks.

So did they gauge your attitude and decide to do that for free after going through sending a request to their supervisor or did they do that for you right away? I was completely civil about mine and they threw away the $99 initial fee for a while and then finally put me on with a supervisor who said after reviewing my case they'd only charge me $24.95. My initial call in was 1 yr and 5 days after purchase.

i got the red ring of death from my xbox, all i didwas jiggle the power connector and it went away and i have not seen it since. I was running the power cord through an intercooler, so i figured there must be some loose wire in there some where

that sucks, but I didn't get the red ring of death. Mine elite went from readable disc to unreadable after putting rainbox six vegas 2 in the tray.

All four rings usually means your video card isn't properly connected.

I will definitely add you when I get my elite back.

I like the 360 but they sure break for no reason.

My son has one from last Christmas. Does anyone know if the reliability has improved on the units sold in the last 5-6 months?
it's when it hit that 2.5 year mark where you don't have warranty coverage on it anymore where it breaks.
