ever used replica aimpoints or eotechs on real firearms? if so how well did they work?
he is asking if anyone had used a replica aimpoint or eotech on real steel.
i wouldnt... they're not built the same. Cheap.
im not sure what you are asking
for example. Aimpoints from midway usa go for around $400. aimpoints at aex go for around $85. would the $85 aimpoint work anywhere near as well as the $400 one?
Im starting to build my stag 15. and im trying to save money on a cheap but reliable optic. im buying the flattop upper so for now i was thinking a replica aimpoint or eotech.
Depends on what you're doing. On a .22 or simlar caliber rifle you intend to shoot cans with, sure why not.

I would say you'd be alright. I mean a big reason the RS stuff is so expensive is due to reliability, water resistance, lighting adjustment, and night and brightness settings. The concept is the same, the knockoffs just don't have the reliability and extra goodies.

well its .223. i can understand a .22 but i wonder if the shock of the .223 would screw up the zero of the replica a lot. later of course ill buy the real deal but for now ill try it.
oh no way?? where did you hear this?
There is also numerous accounts of people running over 1K rounds through AR's with no shift in zero with replica aimpoints purchased on ebay. If you're only punching paper and cans with 100 rounds down in a day of shooting, buy a cheap one.

alright thanks. real aimpoints are $400 and up. Ive seen Bushnell eotechs for $300. they got great reviews. maybe ill try that. real acogs are way expensive, and im sure the replicas suck for real steal as well as aimpoints.
an ar15 recoil is not bad at all
alright well thanks a lot for the help.
i thought Ar-15's are .223...
you can pay for school but you cant buy class
ar-15s are designed to exorb recoil
you can get ar 15s in different calibers. standard is .223cal or 5.56. ive seen lowers in .22, 9mm, and .308. the .223 ive shot is so smooth.
I'd rather spend $400 once than $85 and then $400 later on.
