so what are your thoughts on this article and this mayoral candidates encouragement of how to handle crime in Oakland

As some one who is an AJ major in school and a former resident of that area i say its aobut time. Of course the cops dont want any joe shmo running around going vigilantee but im glad to see people are standing up for themselves. My family moved due to crime, you let the gangs run teh streets this will happen eventulaly

I believe burglars are generally more concerned when confronted by an armed citizen than a peace officer. More armed home owners = less home burglaries because the personal risk vs. reward to the burglar is greater.

i'm currently thinking of moving to oakland to cast my vote for this individual

I agree with Spock,Anyone who comes into my house and threatens me or any one in my family can expect to deal with me personally.
