How's my weapon selection?
Well I live up in Chico, 25, brand new to the sport...looking to buy some equipment in the near future.
Don't get the Clasic army G36K kit because the foregrip doesn't fit tight, don't think you'll have to spend that much on a pistol though I would recomend buy just a stock gun and play with it a couple of times see waht you want improved then get upgrades

Yeah I hear the CA one isn't as good...and that's a good point, play with it a couple of times before doing anything to the gun. That will be hard for me though with my personality lol.
everything sounds all nice and dandy...

America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable.- HST.

"my reasoning here is I can get a gun good for CQB as well as longer range"

bah, i learned my lesson with crappy army, two CA guns, neither turned out to be anything impressive..
you should check out that mp5 that you sent to kevin....lol
The only thing I can add is that you don't want to drop $700 just to find out that you hate airsofting. Go out a couple of times, find out that you love it, talk with the guys about what are good upgrades, which ones to avoid, good gear and bad gear. As far as the way you are going about getting your gun, you are right on... doing the research and such. I'm still running stock and its working out for me so far (knock on wood).
WAR IS PEACE.
