Installed MOSFET, too much double cycling

Apr 23, 2008 7:23pm
Yeah, so I installed a mosfet into an ICS m4 running with a stock ~330(?) fps spring and 9.6v battery and now it double cycles like a mofo on semi because the motor is running too fast and before the motor comes to a halt, the gears go another extra cycle. Other than replacing the mosfet with an active-breaking/mosfet or downgrading to a different battery, is there anything I can do to make it cycle normally? I was thinking of a sector-clip, but then that really only helps with the tappet plate to prevent double feeding, not cycling i think.

try a higher rated spring with a ported cylinder.

Use the battery it was designed for. 8.4V

Mosfet timing?

As far as I know, the MOSFET does actually increase the rate of fire considerably since there is less resistance due to corrosion of the trigger contacts. The problem only occurred after I installed the MOSFET and I looked at the cut-off lever and it looks perfectly fine and when cycling the gears by hand, it disengages the trigger contacts correctly so that shouldn't be the problem I think.

ok I could see a mosfet decreasing resistance in an older aeg where the contacts have and some serious arcing. But how much is it diminishing resistance compared to pieces of copper touching each other?

maybe he has a worn auto cut off lever...and a worn switch assembly...
