i'm coming up on about 10k worth of tattoos and they are very good. listen to everyone on here that is saying cheap is never good with tattoos. shop around and look at other tattoo artists books at all the shops. ask around and get referrals from other people. if its a good shop they will be up front with you if they think they will be able to do what you envision. find out who does what style at each shop you visit, because everyone is good at a particular style. wait until the tattoo convention in the area and see who's style you like. then take a little time off from searching so you can make very sure that what you are wanting is what you want for life.
you should worry about paying people back before you worry about a tattoo.
