Open up a photobucket (or a similar site) account, upload your pictures to your account, then copy and paste the image code they give you to your thread

does that process remain the same for putting pictures in your signature box?

Just do a Google search for "Image Hosting" and you should get sites like Photobucket, Picaso etc etc etc. From there create an account, upload your images that you want to be viewable then if you click on a picture you've uploaded it should give you four codes. You normally would want "IMG" type codes for posting directly to say a sig pic or what not. Avatar pics generally will upload from a "HTTP" format.
