im turning 17 soon and i was wondering how old do i have to be to join ROTC
Not sure if it's different for different branches but here are the requirements for the Air Force ROTC.
If your highschool offers it you can take a JROTC, but if not you have to wait until your senior year to enrol for an ROTC scholarship. If your college offers ROTC though, you dont have to have a scholarship to take it. Hope this helped.

:( i go to franklin high school and they dont have JROTC i was looking foward to join the Army JROTC.
As long as you're attending a college campus that offers an ROTC program you can enroll in Military Science 1 & 2 (Freshman and Sophmore years) without having a scholarship.
I would talk to LAAT SSG Terry he is in JROTC and is going to basic.
-insert failed attempt of something funny here-
ok cool thanks a bunch :D
Another career track to consider to get commissioned is joing the National Guard (ARNG) or Army Reserves (USAR), you can go split tracks which is BCT in the summer between JR and SR year and then AIT after you graduate or just wait to you graduate and then complete all the training at once.
did u go to ROTC? and if so how long do they take? and what do u do in ROTC
I've been enlisted for 17 years but I started out in ROTC... Okay I just dated myself there but I completed MS 1 & 2 before going active duty. ROTC is a four year program which consists of about two classes per semester.
also was wondering my friend was in ROTC and he said it was fun is it true?
I did ROTC at an academy. It isn't at all like ROTC at a civilian college. I'd suggest ROTC for anybody who wants to go to school and serve their country following their degree. It isn't right for everyone though. In my SEAL platoon we had 16 guys. Of those 16, 14 weren't going officer. They were going Enlisted. Some of them still had scholarships, myself included, but most of us decided to drop them and payback the military in years of service. College is paid for and you still get to do what you want. So I guess what I am trying to say is based on what you want to do in the military, make your decision wisely. Make sure its what you want most. I always wanted to be an officer, but when it came down to it I wanted to be a SEAL far more.

Fun:

Saying it's fun is just about impossible to gauge as everyone gets something different out of it.
I'm in Army ROTC right now at sac state... was supposed to be at Advanced Camp (we call it LDAC... Leadership Development Advanced Camp) from June 6 - July 8 but i had shoulder surgery 3 months ago so it got pushed back to July 13 - Aug 16.
