i got it apart, now i need the lube, or something that will work, anyone have a suggestion, i also need to get the old grease off, would goof-off be safe?
Dont use goof off in the gun. Im fairly certain goof off destroys rubber. Whenever i remove old grease i just use a paper towel. I'm not certain if its the greatest way but it has always worked for me. White lithium grease work ok in guns. It gets kinda gunky after a while and it thickens up thus creating a not great lube job.
is vaseline a good lube? thats what my dad said to use, and he used to work with gears for about 20 years of his life, he said petroleum grease's are the best grease's out there.
Never used it I would say no. Stick to what we use. The grease may be placed on the gears and the cylinder but there is rubber in there. It could eat away at the rubber in the cylinder and that would be bad. You would loose all of your compression.
dam i was just gonna use wd
